In the year 353, the calligrapher Wang Xizhi invited his family and friends to spend an afternoon at the Orchid Pavilion. Cups of wine floated down a winding stream, and whoever a cup stopped in front of had to compose a poem on the spot. That afternoon became the most celebrated gathering in Chinese history, and Shen Yun brought it to the stage in the 2016 dance Poets of the Orchid Pavilion.

This mug carries the poets of that afternoon. The coasters come with it, so it's ready for the first cup. It's a host gift that says what a thank-you should: we were glad to be at your table.
